Sheet 01

Security  systems  for  Melbourne  businesses.

Six disciplines, one crew.

Indicative exploded axonometric · not to scale SL-01–03 security · SL-04 cabling & rack · SL-05 AV · SL-06 Wi-Fi
Most sites need three or four of these at once. Scheduling them together is what stops the cabling from being run before anyone has decided where the cameras go.

Where  the  coverage  stops.

Cameras are sited from a plan like this one, not from where a bracket happens to fit. The shaded areas are what each device can actually see, bounded by the walls that bound it.

Schedule  of  solutions.

What each item includes as standard, and the sheet that covers it in full. Scope is confirmed against your building before anything is quoted.

Ref Item

Cabling one system this year and another the next is how a comms cupboard ends up with three brands, three apps and no shared documentation. Scheduled together, they share one rack, one cable route and one handover.

A  lock  keeps  people  out.  A  log  tells  you  who  came  in.

The reason to control a door electronically is rarely the door. It is the record: every attempt, granted or refused, against a credential you can revoke from a desk without touching the door.

When somebody leaves, you disable a card. You do not rekey a building or wonder how many copies of a key are in circulation.

Logs are held on your own controller. We do not host them, and we do not need access to them for the system to work.

Questions  we  get  asked.

Straight answers, including the ones that are “it depends” — in which case we say what it depends on.

What does a system actually cost?

It depends on the building, and these are the things it depends on: how many doors need controlling, how many cameras and at what mounting height, how far the cable has to run and whether there is existing containment to run it in, and whether the recorder is sized for four cameras or forty. We attend site, measure it, and give you an itemised quote with the equipment named. You can compare that line by line against anyone else.

Do you take small jobs?

Yes. Four cameras and a reader on the front door is a job. So is one camera you cannot get working. We would rather do a small job properly than talk you into a large one.

Can you work with equipment we already have?

Often, yes. Send us the model numbers off the recorder and a camera and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth keeping, extending or replacing. Sometimes the answer is that the cabling is fine and only the head-end needs to change, which is a much smaller job than a full replacement.

How long does an install take?

A small fit-out — a handful of cameras, one or two doors — is usually a day or two on site. A full building with cabling, a rack and access control runs longer and is staged so the parts that need the ceiling open happen together. You get the sequence in the quote, before anything is ordered.

Do we have to close while you work?

Usually not. Most of the work happens above the ceiling and in the comms cupboard. Where something has to be done out of hours — a door taken off line, a switch cut over — we schedule it and tell you in advance rather than turning up and asking.

Are we locked into a subscription?

No ongoing fee is required to keep a system working. It runs on your own network and your own hardware, and nothing stops functioning because a relationship with us ends. The one exception is 24/7 monitoring, which is a separate paid service because somebody has to be watching — everything else is yours outright.

Who owns the system when it is finished?

You do. Administrator credentials, configuration and the as-built documentation are handed over at commissioning. If you decide to have someone else maintain it, they will find a labelled rack and a document that explains it.

What happens if something stops working?

You contact us and the people who built the system are the ones who look at it. There is no account manager to explain the site to. Where a fault can be diagnosed remotely we will do that first, because it is faster than waiting for a van.

Send  us  the  building.

A floor plan, a site address or a photo of the comms cupboard is enough to start. We will come back with a scope and a number.
